John Bruschi was born to be a winemaker. His father, Elio, worked and owned over 200 acres of vineyards in the McLaren Vale wine region until he passed away in 2003, aged 74 years. It was almost a foregone conclusion that John would follow in his father’s footsteps gaining experience with various local wineries before enrolling in winemaking at Roseworthy Agricultural College.
After returning to the family farm in 1986, John began a partnership with his parents that would gain him enough experience to buy one of the family’s vineyards with his wife Donna. Since then they have redeveloped the vineyard and opened Potters Clay Vineyards winery in 1997 and have spent the last 8 years building it into a state of the art operation.
John Bruschi currently manages over 200 acres of vineyards for his mother, owns and manages Potters Clay Vineyards’ 40 acres and a 100 tonne crush winery. When John is not knee deep in colourful wine or hidden amongst the vines, he enjoys teaching his son Izak the family tradition.
“A winery with a truly passionate winemaker whose dream is to share his love of wine with everyone he meets, John Bruschi is charismatic, approachable and can capture his audience with an easy, friendly wine education. John is always available to talk wine or promote his beloved Potters Clay”.
